Do Manchester United Really Need to Sign Christian Eriksen?

Let’s Agree to Disagree! Do Manchester United Really Need to Sign Christian Eriksen?

Sky Sports sources post that Christian Eriksen is understood to be deciding between whether to join Manchester United or stay at Brentford.

Both clubs have made the 30-year-old appealing offers – but United’s is thought to be more financially lucrative.

Eriksen worked with Erik ten Hag when he trained with Ajax as part of his his return to football following his horrifying collapse while playing for Denmark at Euro 2020. Teaming up again as part of United’s anticipated new era has its attractions.

But sources close to the midfielder, whose short-term contract at Brentford expires at the end of June, say he and his family are settled in London and have reservations about relocating to the North West.

Eriksen also wants to start every game to be sure of a place in Denmark’s World Cup team later this year – his priority after missing out on the Euros because of his cardiac arrest in the first game.

You have to respect Christian for basing his decision on footballing reasons and not just big money. Especially considering that he is heading into the latter stages of his career.

Do Manchester United Really Need to Sign Christian Eriksen?

Christian Eriksen will be THE superstar at Brentford, who would build the team around him. He’d be playing in the Premier League with many of his Danish international teammates while he and his family can remain in West London. Man Utd should move on and set their sights on the “next Eriksen”. Sensible choice all round would be for Christian Eriksen to stay with the Bees, play every week, and enjoy his football. I can only see him rotating with the squad and sitting on the bench for large parts of the season at Old Trafford.

People are incredibly surprised that spurs don’t want him, he would be perfect for their midfield creativity issues, but only if conte wants to play a 3-5-2 or a 3-4-1-2
We wouldnt be surprised if he chooses Brentford, we’ve already seen how perfect he is at fixing their midfield problems and being their creative heartbeat, and they’ve reignited his career
I dont know how he would fit in at Man Utd, but obviously Ten Hag is smart enough to make it work. the question is, how much game time will he get, and is Eriksen willing to be part of a rebuild project when he already has a team perfectly suited to him sitting there?
