Cristiano Ronaldo drops the bombshell that he wants to LEAVE Manchester United, and Chelsea and Bayern Munich are waiting to seize the opportunity

According to reports, CRISTIANO RONALDO has informed Manchester United that he intends to quit the team this summer

Ronaldo signed a two-year contract at Old Trafford last summer, making an emotional comeback to the Red Devils from Italian champions Juventus.

Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly wants to leave Manchester United

The Portuguese is said to have asked the Red Devils brass to let him leave if a suitable offer comes inwever, the club’s dismal performance in the previous campaign apparently persuaded the Portuguese to leave for greener pastures.

The Times reports that the 5 Ballon d’Or winner has informed United’s management that he wants to terminate his second spell at the Theatre of Dreams early.

The 37-year-old Ronaldo is rumored to want the club to allow him to depart if they get a good offer for his services.

The plea from the former Real Madrid player is motivated by his desire to compete in the Champions League, which United was unable to enter last season.

The age-defying forward is determined to make the most of his remaining “three or four years” of elite competition.

The captain of Portugal is allegedly still driven to increase his remarkable prize total by winning additional club and individual accolades.

Ronaldo’s determination to leave Old Trafford is a result of the organization’s lack of vision in selecting caretaker manager Ralph Rangnick and former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The football great feels his future “no longer” belongs with Premier League heavyweights as a result of the board’s confidence in the team.

Ronaldo’s choice to leave Manchester for a second time is also alleged to have been influenced by personal factors.

Ronaldo reportedly still has the highest respect for the team and won’t try to push his way out despite thinking his future doesn’t lay at Old Trafford.

The news that Ronaldo wants to leave United will be welcomed by Chelsea, United’s league opponent.

The West Londoners have been monitoring the forward’s position with United in an effort to make him their flagship acquisition this summer.

Recently, Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, and new Blues manager Todd Boehly met to talk about a variety of issues, including the possibility of the sporting legend moving.

The veteran forward, who was a bright spot in an otherwise miserable season for the Red Devils, is also attracting interest from German powerhouse Bayern Munich.

Ronaldo was United’s leading scorer, tallying 24 goals and three assists in 39 appearances.

Although he has received numerous requests to let Ronaldo go, new Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag has kept mute on the matter.

Jamie Carragher, a former Liverpool defender, recently said: “I firmly believe that [Ten Hag] must use Ronaldo in this situation. I’m persuaded.

“Whether he is permitted to or not, that was a poor signing, as I have repeatedly stated during this season.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is among the all-time great players, and I’m perceived as the one who is criticizing Ronaldo.

“Ronaldo is a much better player than I was; obviously, I couldn’t even tie his boots.”

But he’s fantastic, so I don’t mean to be disrespectful by saying that.

Ronaldo has never been a part of a terrible team. He has always played on outstanding teams.

When a member of a winning team, his attitude of attempting to be the head honcho, attaining the objectives, and inspiring others is looked favorably.

“Playing for a bad team might be perceived as a drawback, and I believe that has been the case this season.

“Man United cannot start the upcoming season with a forward who will be 38 years old.

Even if he does score goals, that is inappropriate for one of the top clubs in the world like Man United.
