Man City transfer news RECAP City confirm Ortega signing as Kalvin Phillips set for medical plus Sterling updates

Manchester City have been among the busiest clubs in the summer transfer window as their second high-profile addition prepares to undergo his medical.

Having won their fourth English crown in five seasons, City won the race to sign Erling Haaland and the champions are set to welcome Kalvin Phillips to the Etihad Stadium after agreeing a £45million fee with Leeds for the England playmaker. That figure includes an initial £42m outlay.

Phillips will be checked over by the medical staff on Friday before signing on the dotted line.

Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling are, meanwhile, preparing to leave for Arsenal and Chelsea, respectively - while United States goalkeeper Zack Steffen is expected to join Middlesbrough on loan as the Blues target Stefan Ortega as his replacement to back-up Brazil international Ederson.
